Where Does BOSCO® Come From?
Many people wonder how we make Bosco® All Natural Chocolate Syrup. Unfortunately, there are not trees that we can tap for chocolate syrup (although that method works well for our maple syrup friends), nor does it flow in secret underground rivers, as in the Willy Wonka movie. We use conventional manufacturing techniques.
We add bulk materials via automatic measuring devices into large stainless steel cooking vats. We blend minor ingredients and flavorings into the batch separately, through a custom blender device, following strict product handling and quality assurance codes.
While in the vats, Bosco® is pasteurized for product uniformity and then cooled for bottling. Computers measure and monitor the product temperatures for perfect cooking.
Bosco® is unique as a chocolate syrup since it has only natural cocoa with absolutely no artificial flavors added. For an extra touch, we also add a malt extract, which combined with the special Bosco® cocoa powder gives us the delicious Bosco® taste generations of "children-at-heart" have grown to love.
Many of our consumers remember the days when Bosco® was packaged in glass jars. As Bosco® has matured, we found the current plastic squeeze bottle to be much more sanitary, easier for consumers to use at home, and a better consumer value overall.
Handy plastic dispenser caps top our bottles along with tamper-evident shrink seals to seal in the Bosco® freshness.
